Living in the DMV
Well, I truly didn’t understand the DMV area until I got here and I’m still not sure I understand it. The roads are the most confusing thing ever! For the most part, Chicago follows a grid system and the DMV area follows its own thing. There are slight turns, hills, curves, and circles all over the place. I’m the car everyone is beeping the horn at because I didn't know my lane was an automatic right lane, which I had no way of knowing that unless I’m from here. My GPS doesn't pick up on those types of things. I’ve been turned around/ lost since I've been here and I don't dare go anywhere without my GPS. I should just buy a sticker that says, “I’m new in town, please excuse my driving.”
Besides the driving, I’m still adjusting to the difference in food choices. Trying to learn about Mambo sauce instead of mild sauce. While also trying to experience real authentic seafood that everyone has been ravening is the best thing in Maryland. One thing I miss the most is a good deep dish pizza and Harold’s chicken.
