Dedication, what does it mean to me?
I’ve dedicated my entire life to follow my dreams of becoming a physical therapist.
So if you ask what dedication means to me? Well I’ll tell you.
Dedication means…
Retaking 5 classes to bring up your GPA (not because you failed the class but because you got a B)
Dedication means...
Paying cash for all the classes that I’ve already taken in hopes to get a better grade, despite not having the means to afford it.
Dedication means…
Traveling to over 10 open houses just so I can get to know the faculty and staff of different programs (2 of which were out of state).
Dedication means…
That even though you may not have the money for your dreams, you keep chasing.
Dedication means…
Applying to physical therapy school 3 times and being rejected from 24 schools and not giving up.
Dedication means…
Getting a job in your field that will help you gain experience but won't help pay the bills.
Dedication means...
Taking the extra effort to send out email after email so that admission directors are familiar with your name.
Dedication means...
That even though it took me three years to find someone who looked like me in the field, I kept pushing forward.
Dedication means...
Traveling outside of the country on a medical mission trip with physical therapists so I could stand out as an applicant.
Dedication means...
Emptying out your savings account just so you can apply to schools.
Dedication means…
That you are willing to put yourself in uncomfortable situations time after time.
Dedication means...
That doubt and fear don't get in your way.
Dedication to me means that you are willing to give it your all, and that no matter how difficult things may get, you never give up.
