What happens in Vegas ?

This past weekend, I celebrated my best friend's birthday in Las Vegas! We were preparing for this trip for over a year so I was beyond excited that it was finally here. I know the saying is, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”... well I actually want to share a small part of my trip because it pertains to my physical therapy journey.

I was being super cheap when buying my flight to leave so I knew that I would be one of the last people arriving back to Chicago. Instead of waiting in the airport all day, I decided that I should make the most of the trip and gain observation hours. On Facebook, there is a pre Doctor of Physical Therapy group chat and a week prior to leaving for my trip, I asked if anyone in the group knew of any therapists in the area. I received an immediate response. I was able to connect with Dr. RJ Williams, who is the vice president of Nevada’s Physical Therapy Association and the Chief Operating Officer for Fyzical Therapy Centers. I was able to shadow him and his colleagues that Monday morning. The experience was different than any other setting because they specifically focus on Vestibular and Balance. They had so much new equipment that I’ve never even seen before, and I was also introduced to the benefits of Fyzical therapy. The staff was amazing, and I’m beyond grateful that I had the opportunity to shadow while out of town.

The Thursday I came back, I sent out a thank you note to the clinic to show my appreciation.

A few days later, Dr. RJ Williams had this to say about our encounter.

Thank you Dr. RJ Williams for giving me the opportunity!
