Affirmation

The best gifts to me are the ones that require much time and effort. It also has to have sentimental value to that person’s life. By my 24th birthday in April, I had only heard rejections from schools I applied to.  A huge disappointment because by this time I was sure I would know where I would be going for school. My birthday was my self deadline I told myself I should know by. But by no means necessary did I let that ruin my mood. I had arranged a lunch date with one of my best friends who had been in town. We discussed her future, as she had just been accepted into medical school then I opened up to her how I was starting to feel doubtful of my chances of getting into school. As optimistic as she is, she told me that all of my hard work would pay off. 

As a reminder to myself, I look at this pillow every day as motivation that the credentials will one day be mine.
